After reading some reviews about how hard it was to assemble I was somewhat concerned. But once the bench arrived I was able to assemble it within 20 minutes. Only 8 screws and you are done. A word of caution, use a power screw driver with allan wrench bits.

Although we like the bench, assembly was a problem because some of the holes had to be re-drilled to accommodate the screws. In addition, the directions for assembly were non-existent---just a picture of all the piecies and a general view of how it should go together. We managed, but it could have been made a bit easier.

I bought this bench to use as an accent piece on my front porch. It is surrounded by flowerpots with many different colored geraniums. The red bench stands out beautifully and "completes" the look that I wanted for my porch.

This bench comes with screws that have a hole in the center instead of the usual groves for a flat head or phillips head screwdriver. An allen wrench accompanies the screws. The result of this set up is that anyone with weak hands cannot put the bench together. So any woman living independently is forced to ask for help in a project that she ordinarily would enjoy puttering with in happy solitude. Perhaps there is a part that one can purchase to put in a power screwdriver, but why force us to go to a hardware store just to assemble a stupid bench? I am very sorry I purchased this thing[...]
